First Woman of the Month

No doubt all women have some kind of magic of their own! I want to highlight a woman per month so we can all benefit from reading their stories. I have already reached out a couple of amazing women in my circle and can’t wait to write all about them! These include- a makeup artist, ob/gyn, hair dresser, teacher, counselor, school administrator, small Youtuber, mom of special needs child, vet tech, and many more! If you have a specific question you’d like to have me ask them or suggestions on someone I should highlight, shoot me an email!

When I told my mother she had to be the first to be featured, I asked  what she wanted to share with other women out there, she said she wanted to keep things very simple and mentioned the following:

Love and Hard Work

Walking away from my first marriage was not what I ever pictured doing, but when your life is on the line, you have no choice left. Yes you can love others and try to help them the best you can, but you have to love yourself more. Love yourself enough  to the point where you can notice toxic behaviors and leave.

Having to give a baby back to God, divorce, and later becoming a single mom with 2 girls meant a lot of sacrifices took place. Of course sometimes when it rains it pours and you hit rock bottom. Just remember what you are fighting for and get back up. Easier said than done for sure, and as cliché as it may sound, if I can do it, you can too.

Respect begins with you. Love yourself enough to walk away from anything that doesn’t help you grow as a person. You do not need to argue to prove a point, and remember not everything is worth disturbing your peace. Focus your energy on your goals and keep carrying yourself with grace and respect towards everyone, most importantly, yourself.

Things will never be perfect and I am prime example of it as I had to give a second baby back to God, but even when you think you have nothing left in you, PUSH forward. Every struggle was difficult, but it helped shape who I am and showed me exactly where I wanted to go.

My second marriage and growing my family is definitely the rainbow after the storm I had been through.

Find Your Passion

Find something you love and invest your all into it! My passion without a doubt is cooking. Whether I’d be cooking for family, a restaurant I was helping run, or my own restaurant, I always make sure I put all my love into it. The recipe I’m sharing with you is extremely simple, but one that has always been a favorite of my family!

Final Thoughts

I hope you found my mom’s story helpful and if you try out the recipe, make sure to share with us how it worked out. Looking forward to hearing from you!
