Juliet Rho

Biography
Juliet Yieree Rho is a PhD student in Developmental Psychology and Education at the Â¥·ïÌìÌà at the University of Toronto. She specializes in Artificial Intelligence, Assessment, and Education Policy. In addition to her position as a faculty member at Centennial College, she actively contributes to the IELTS Centre, further enhancing her expertise in language assessment and academic development. Her research lies at the intersection of technology and education, particularly exploring how AI can reshape educational practices, with a focus on assessment in post-secondary settings for both native and non-native English speakers. Juliet is deeply interested in the applications of Machine Learning and Large Language Models in education, emphasizing their potential to improve learning outcomes, provide better support for teachers, and foster adaptive learning environments.
Her research also examines the broader implications of AI on education policy, investigating how governmental and institutional policies can either facilitate or obstruct the adoption of AI technologies in schools and universities. Juliet is passionate about resilience—both within educational systems and among learners—studying how AI-driven tools can help build resilience against educational disruptions, such as those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a multidisciplinary approach, Juliet aims to contribute to the development of ethical, equitable, and effective AI frameworks that ensure the benefits of these technologies are accessible to all learners.
